PRAYER
A Call to Prayer
Rosalie Naglich
02-Jun-2007
Psalm 42:1 amp. As the hart pants and longs for the water brooks, so I pant and long for You, O God.

The deer must satisfy his thirst, but we as Christians, need to long for the water of the Word that will satisfy our spiritual thirst. Pant means to long demonstratively, to show clearly and deliberately. Sometimes our thirst for God can wane when we entertain our flesh. We need to demonstrate our thirst by spending time with our Heavenly Father and drinking in His Spirit by absorbing the moisture of heaven.

I think of prayer as thirsting for God and the more that we give attention to drinking of His Spirit by fellowshipping with Him, we begin to pant after the water brooks on behalf of others. We live in a ‘me generation’, and our eyes become blinded to the needs of others when all we see is our needs, our wants, our desires. We need to become aware of the world around us and give ourselves to intercession on behalf of others.

It seems that every country is experiencing traumatic obstacles where the economy is shaking, the morals of people are becoming more wicked, the Gospel is becoming more liquefied, and the meat of the Word is being tainted with false doctrine. The call to prayer isn’t something new - the call to prayer has always been important! Lack of prayer is because the Church of Jesus Christ has become cold and when something becomes cold, it begins to harden. Let’s get back to prayer for other nations. The Holy Spirit will speak to you if you take time to listen as to what and who is on the Father’s heart.
Our prayer...
Father, In Jesus Name I know that there are people and circumstances that only You can intervene in. As I sit in Your presence and pause from the
demands of life, I open my heart to you to listen to the desires of Your heart. This is a serious time, not only in America, but many nations are in turmoil, and war seems imminent on every side. Satan wants to dilute the Gospel and expel it from the Jewish nation of Israel. You told us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem, and I pray for peace in that land. I pray Your blessings and divine intervention on behalf of the Jewish people all over the world that they would encounter a divine visitation with the Messiah, Jesus. Give the leaders wisdom in every decision, and may American stand with Your chosen people.

Holy Spirit, continue to brood over the nations, imparting to those preaching the Gospel to be bold, fearless in the face of opposition, strengthened in the inner man and a divine impartation of power to do the will of God. Open the eyes of those who are bound with religious tradition, unbelief in the Living God, and may the glorious Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ shine upon their hearts. Divine visitations. Change the spiritual climate in nations and let it rain with the water of the Word, the revelation of Your Word to water the hearts of the people to thirst after the Lord Jesus Christ.

Thank You Father, this is the will of God that all men be saved.
